The official Japanese (?) character poster for Juno’s role, Dr. Payne, has been published yesterday. This is an actually existing Marvel-figure, if you want to know more, check the link after the MORE sign and our small synopsis of him (yes, he’s originally a male). Beware, because these could be spoilers for the movie!

The original character: Thaddeus Paine
In short: He’s Venom’s enemy. Just like Darkman, he looses the ability to feel pain in an accident, which affects him mentally, makes him obsessed with (other) medical freaks. Paine targets Eddie Brock, manages to separate Brock from the symbiote, then after they reunite, Venom punishes the doctor by making him reliant on other people’s brains. Thaddeus has to eat human brains to survive, he also has no tactile sensation, so he can’t feel anything by touch. He has Freddy Krueger-like metal claws on gloves as a weapon.
There’s no information about what the new Payne will be like, but judging from the trailer alone, she will never capture Venom, just the guy played by Stephen Graham. Graham’s character could be another symbiote or alien, this could result in Juno’s figure having some kind of infection or ability. It’s more likely that instead of her, Chiwetel Ejiofor’s soldier will fight Venom. There’s also the symbiote god Knull, plus the incoming alien invasion (as usual), so it’s pretty sure that the soldier and the titular character will join forces against Knull & the other extraterrestrials.
tl; dr: Very small chance of Juno fighting aliens (or not dying), but we can still hope for a week.
