2017 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Liz W. Garcia’s One Percent More Humid

In 2005, Franklin Leonard issued the very first edition of The Blacklist. Things We Lost in the Fire, Juno, Lars and the Real Girl topped the list while 1% More Humid, a screenplay by Liz Garcia figured somewhere in the middle of the chart. While a large swath of those films were made, after a decade of having made it’s appearance on that list, 2017 is the launch year for a drama that not unlike her Sundance preemed The Lifeguard (2013), revolves around young women dealing with the past and living in the now. One Percent More Humid stars Juno Temple, Julia Garner and Alessandro Nivola and production took place sometime during the summer.

Gist: The story centers on Iris (Temple) and Catherine (Garner), college-age childhood friends who reunite for a humid New England summer to help each other cope with the unimaginable – a friend has died in a car accident, an accident which they both survived.

Production Co./Producers: La Pistola, Inc.’s Liz W. Garcia, Red Productions’ Joshua Harto (The Lifeguard), Isaac Lefevre, Red Sanders (Balls Out)

Prediction: U.S. Dramatic Comp.

U.S. Distributor: Rights Available. TBD (domestic). TBD (international)

3 Pics from the Past

Thanks to Instagram, three new additions are in the Gallery: The first is a photo published by Julia Garner, Juno’s co-star on ‘One Percent More Humid’ (and on ‘Dirty John’ too), which was taken in 2016, during the filming of this movie. The second is from Simon Pegg, who starred with Juno in ‘Lost Transmissions’, it was made two years ago on set. And the last one is a special, custom poster for ‘Killer Joe’, made by the talented Gokaiju (Grégory Sacré) [used with his permission, more of his art and contact information could be found on his official website here]:

Wrap (around this interview)

First of all, here’s another picture from the photoshoot Juno had with Julia Garner:

Studio Photoshoots  >  2019  >  With Julia Garner

(I’m pretty sure, that these photos were made for ‘One Percent More Humid’ now, but since I’ve found them in this year, which marks the second shared project of the two Js, I’ll leave it at 2019.)

And here’s a nice little interview about the season finale of ‘Dirty John’, Juno’s character Veronica and her interactions with Eric Bana’s title character:

The Wrap made some cool photos about her for this interview, those along with screencaps from the video will come soon!

Morning with J&J

A good photo has surfaced from a shoot that happened probably last year, and it’s obviously ‘Dirty John’-related /unless it’s for ‘One Percent More Humid’/:

Studio Photoshoots  >  2019  >  With Julia Garner

And as for the “morning” part, Juno was a guest at a USA-based tv station’s morning show (contains minor spoilers):

Three things to notice (aside from how pretty she is): 1. The last 40 seconds contains a preview from the last episode, coming this Sunday, so if you don’t want to know what’s going to be in it, be careful! (I’ve skipped that part.) 2. The Twitter account written beside her name is fake as far as I know. 0 tweets, 0 following, 18 followers, no pictures, nothing… 3. The host is doing the same thing as the one in the Young Hollywood-interview, where he’s talking to her all the time, but meanwhile he’s looking at the camera/the audience. This must be some USA-tv-thing, but I still think it’s unprofessional.

Coming next: Screencaps from this lovely video; review and screencaps from the last episode of ‘Dirty John’.
