The Offer of Fancy Clothes

In this double exciting post, we can report the great news that Juno’s signed for another series which just oozes quality, even on paper!

Juno Temple has signed on to star in The Offer’, the Paramount Plus series that will explore the behind-the-scenes drama during the making of ‘The Godfather’.

‘The Offer’ is based on the experience of Oscar-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy (Miles Teller), about the behind-the-scenes events of the original 1972 film. Along with Teller, the series will star Matthew Goode as producer Robert Evans, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, Colin Hanks as Barry Lapidus, and Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola. [All great actors!]

Temple will star [as] Bettye McCartt, Ruddy’s assistant and a powerhouse in her own right. The role marks Temple’s latest in a streaming series, with the actress currently appearing in the critically-acclaimed Apple series ‘Ted Lasso’. Her other TV roles include ‘Vinyl’, ‘Little Birds’, and ‘Dirty John’. [Plus ‘Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams’ and ‘Drunk History’.] On the film side, she is known for starring in projects like ‘Maleficent’, ‘Atonement’, and ‘Palmer’.

She is repped by UTA, B-Side Management, Relevant, and Lichter Grossman.

Little Birds Interview 3 – Marie Claire

This a long and interesting interview, I suggest reading it! (I’ve added my own thoughts in brackets, using Italics.)

Juno Temple is speaking from her boyfriend’s house in LA, during lockdown. (Who could that be?) She’s sleep-deprived, having just moved house and is struggling to stay awake. You really wouldn’t know. The BAFTA-winning actress (you’ll recognise her from projects like ‘Atonement’, ‘Maleficent’ and ‘Dirty John’ – How come nobody ever talks about the movies where she’s the lead?) is upbeat and animated, having just put the finishing touches to a set of necklaces handcrafted for her girlfriends in lockdown (she wanted to study fashion before Hollywood beckoned). “It focuses my brain on something because I’ve got a brain that can be quite hard to manage” she explains of the jewellery-making. Her latest project, ‘Little Birds’ (out next month) sees her play American debutante Lucy Savage. Here, she explains what drew her to it…

Little Birds… Again?

According to an article spreading on Twitter, Juno is joining another television mini-series, called ‘Little Birds’ – which is quite interesting, considering she already had a movie with that exact same title.

A period drama starring ‘Dirty John star Juno Temple is one of the first two original commissions from recently promoted Sky drama chief Cameron Roach. Temple, who also starred in films such as ‘Atonement’ [there’s a typo here in the original text] and ‘Killer Joe’, is fronting Little Birds, an adaptation of Anais Nin’s infamous collection of erotic short stories.

Set in Tangier in 1955, in the famous international zone, one of the last outposts of colonial decadence, it follows troubled American debutante Lucy Savage, played by Temple, as she faces a culture shock.  Thrilled to escape her controlling parents, Savage arrives full of anticipation for her marriage to her English fiancée, Lord Hugo Cavendish-Smythe, little knowing that Hugo has already lost his heart to someone else. As Lucy fights to carve out her independence and identity, her life becomes intertwined with Cherifa Lamour, played by Yumna Marwan, a Moroccan dominatrix who services the diplomats and foreigners of this colourful, bohemian world and Egyptian Aristocrat Adham Abaza, played by Raphael Acloque, and they all become entangled with some very dangerous characters.

The six-part series, which will air in 2020 on Sky Atlantic, will be filmed in Spain and Manchester.

(Can’t say I’m enthusiastic about this, but it can turn out good. Also, only one person on Twitter knew about the previously existing movie with the same title, which is very sad… Maybe Juno will be known in the USA as a television actress, despite all the movies she’s done?)

Big photos & little interviews

We hope everyone had a pleasant Christmas! As an after-holiday gift, we bring you new Juno Temple pictures! The first one is a throwback to 2015, it was made at the premiere of ‘Meadowland’. The second one is a tiny teaser from a televised interview, which is – as you could probably guess – about ‘Dirty John’. Last, but definetly not least, more high quality promotional photos from the aforementioned series! And, after the More tag, you can read two tiny interviews about Ms. Temple’s character, Veronica Newell.

Tiny “History of Juno” interview

Juno gave an interview to the British Evening Standard because of her recent venture into science-fiction. It’s also a little recap about her life and career:

Juno Temple is exhibiting remarkable focus. In a make-up chair, in a portable cabin, clad in tracksuit bottoms and a green plastic smock, the actress is discussing her fears about climate change while three people peel back layers of prosthetics from her face.

“This took four-and-a-half hours to create,” says Temple, aged 28. Shortly before, I watched her slice open a carefully constructed prosthetic head to camera. “It’s so badass,” she enthuses, gleeful with the graphic gore of it all. “If you’re not prepared to go balls-to-the-wall with something then don’t sign on in the first place.”

It’s a hot, humid night in a field outside Chicago, where the London-born Temple is wrapping up filming on Autofac, an episode in the anthology series ‘Philip K Dick’s Electric Dreams’, to be broadcast on Channel 4 next Monday.

Juno’s (Electric) Dreams

An extensive search has given us 4 new pictures: A fanmade Instagram photo, two sneak peek images from ‘Electric Dreams’ and a captured image from ‘Wonder Wheel’. After the pictures, there’s a new interview with Juno, who talks about the aforementioned tv-series, and sci-fi, which apparently astonishes her.

And here comes the interview – beware, it contains spoilers about her ‘Electric Dreams’ episode!

Juno Temple Thinks Science Fiction is More Important Than Ever – “Sci-fi is a subject that is constantly going to challenge us.”

One of the first works of science fiction to feature self-replicating artificial intelligence was Philip K. Dick’s short story “Autofac.” In a post-apocalyptic future, an automated factory continues to send out consumer goods to human survivors, regardless if they want them or not. Ironically or not, the contemporary real-world version of Autofac — a factory that can deliver anything — is probably Amazon, who also serves as the producer of the new science fiction anthology series, ’Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams’. Actress Juno Temple stars in the adaptation of “Autofac” for the series. She spoke to Inverse on Friday — the day the series launched — about her feelings about politics, artificial intelligence, and the importance of science fiction for the future of the human race.
