New pics and an interview… about SCI-FI!

Two new pictures have been added to existing galleries, one for the sbjct photoshoot, the other for the Italian Vanity Fair shoot:

Beside these pictures, we’ve got a short interview that was made because of the upcoming ‘Electric Dreams’ episode, featuring Juno (check the previous post about this, if you’ve missed it).

Juno Temple would love to do more sci-fi.

The 28-year-old star has filmed an episode of TV show ‘Electric Dreams’, where each installment is a separate Philip K. Dick short story, and although the actress has starred in a number of Hollywood movies – including ‘Maleficent’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ – she found the genre to be a “real challenge”.

Temple said: “It’s sci-fi which I’ve never done before which was a real challenge and exciting. I have definitely never said a lot of the words I had to so it was difficult trying to figure out how to make that sound normal in my mouth and it was a challenge, but then this is an amazing job and you do your research and learn a lot about things. It was really interesting reading about AI (artificial intelligence) which I have never really gone into before.”

When asked whether she would like to star in any more sci-fi movies, the actress said she “loved” doing sci-fi. She said: “Sure, definitely. It was an amazing challenge. I hope the episode turned out well but it was a really cool challenge and you start thinking about AI and what they are and how human are they and I really loved it.” (…)

Temple announced the nominees for the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award – which she won back in 2013 – and she said she cannot wait to see what else the actors go on to do. She said: “I think this is such an incredibly strong list and all deserve a win and I can’t wait to see what they keep doing. I am really blown away this year. I’m really excited about all of them.”

Some personal note: I’d love to see her playing an alien in a sci-fi movie:) The site where this text comes from, cites her “Hollywood movies”, but only those, where she had a small (or blink and miss) supporting role – I really hate it, when they do that, because these doesn’t show her talent. It’s interesting to note, that the very recent ‘Wonder Wheel’ isn’t mentioned…

Juno Temple encourages female empowerment

Public Appearances > 2017 > 20.03 HWChronicle Women Empowerment

Actress Juno Temple discussed the importance of confidence and self-acceptance as a means of promoting feminine power with members of Le Femme on Monday, while talking about her experience as a woman in the media.

In films including Atonement, Maleficent and The Dark Knight Rises, Temple said she chooses to play strong female characters with complexities that interest her, but also have aspects that she identifies with.

“I think it’s so important to play characters that are going through things that you’ve been through, your friends have told you about those experiences,” Temple said. “Maybe someone somewhere will see that and be like ‘Wow, I’m going through that too.’ ”

She said her favorite characters are those who are comfortable in their personality and she can learn from.

“A lot of women can just get cast as accessories to men, so I was interested to hear how she dealt with that, because she does have a lot of interesting roles,” La Femme leader Sohni Kaur ’17 said.

Temple said that she battled with body image at a young age, but found it liberating to deal with and resolve them on camera. She encouraged students work toward achieving what motivates them, rather than the conception of perfection that society places on them.

“You can have the most perfect body in the world but still really hate being in your own skin,” Temple said. “I’m a strong believer that you should do one thing every day that makes you happy.”

Despite the inherent judgment in the industry, Temple credited her confidence to her experiences as an actress working with other inspirational actresses and female directors, and urged students to find a similar confidence in themselves.

“As a woman you do get told you’re not this enough, you’re not that enough, you’re too short, you’re too blonde,” Temple said. “It can be incredibly unimaginative, but then there are also amazing women in this industry that so believe in female power and so encourage you to be honest as a woman.”

ETOnline: ‘Vinyl’ Star Juno Temple on Threesomes With Mick Jagger’s Son and Hopes for Season 2

Appearing on screen since she was 17, Juno Temple has celebrated a few firsts on set – especially on Vinyl, the HBO drama about a record executive desperately trying to keep his label afloat. Temple, now 26, plays Jamie Vine, an ambitious assistant who has her eyes set on a permanent A&R position and the sexy lead singer of the Nasty Bits played by James Jagger. (Yes, the son of The Rolling Stones lead singer and co-creator of Vinyl, Mick Jagger.)

Vinyl just so happens to be the starlet’s first series, following a string of notable film roles, including Atonement, The Dark Knight Rises, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and Black Mass. “I was pretty terrified about the idea of TV, if I’m being truly honest,” Temple tells ET ahead of the series’ finale, which airs on Sunday, April 17.

“What if I want to do an independent film in Milwaukee or Australia? You’ve locked yourself down. It’s kind of a daunting thought,” Temple explains. Now that she’s survived the first season, however, she’s grown comfortable with the commitment, which she compares to a marriage, as well as the fear of wanting to philander with other projects.

Juno Temple for Vs. Magazine

She’s only 26, but Juno Temple has been stealing scenes with her fiery energy for over a decade. Now, as one of the stars of HBO’s highly anticipated 70s rock and roll drama Vinyl, the British actress is set to make the leap from indie favorite to full blown superstardom, effortlessly charming the hell out of anyone she encounters on the way.

They say you ought to dress for the job you want, which is precisely what Juno Temple did when she auditioned for her role in Vinyl. Premiering this month, the HBO show, which counts Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger as executive producers, follows a music exec (Bobby Cannavale) as he hustles through the parties and punk rock scene of 70s New York. The British actress showed up to read for precocious A&R assistant Jamie Vine in high-waisted bell-bottoms and a t-shirt by Seditionaries, Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s 70s clothing line. “It has Minnie and Mickey Mouse fucking on the front of it, with an anarchy symbol in one of his ears.”

Round two was with Scorsese himself, at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. This time, Temple rocked a crocheted, bell-sleeved mini dress with nude fishnets and platforms. Though she was “pretty fucking nervous,” she got a call ten days later, while prepping for the UTA Christmas party, saying she landed the part. “I was in nothing but my knickers in my living room, and I just sat down, weeping. I called and woke my whole family up at 3 o’clock in the morning.”

By now, her family is used to the ups and downs of showbiz. At 26, Temple has appeared in over 35 films, which range from indie favorites like Killer Joe to blockbusters like The Dark Knight Rises. Not to mention that her mother, Amanda Temple, is a producer, and her father is legendary punk filmmaker, Julien.

Temple’s first face-to-face with Scorsese proved nerve-wracking, but meeting Jagger was all gravy. After all, she had already buddied up with his son, James, who plays the lead singer of the show’s punk band Nasty Bits.“Jimmy and the rest of the band nailed it. They exuded this mad, raw energy.”

The actress also returns to the big screen later this year, opposite Timothy Spall, in the unlikely buddy film Away. It’s set in the English town of Blackpool, which Temple describes as, “Vegas meets Coney Island meets Northern England. You see some pretty mad shit.” Take, for example, this spirited Spall fan attending a bachelorette party: “She was walking around with a huge red dildo, and she screams ‘Oi Tim! Sign my dildo!’”

Given their symbiotic fashion sense and mutual love of punk music, it seems Vinyl’s Jamie Vine was the part Temple was born to play. It’s also the role that will propel her from indie darling to full blown star. Whatever the future holds, Temple is game. “Jamie wants to live life, and I definitely feel that same hunger to experience things — to listen to people, learn from people and make music, even if you can’t play the fucking guitar.”
